Youth-oriented human rights organisations: November 4, 2026, is the deadline for fully-funded ‘AI for Human Rights’ programme

by Piyush Mathur

If your organisation is youth-oriented or youth-led or both and works within the sector of human rights, then you can apply to be part of a programme that would pair you with a similar organisation that has been using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to advance similar goals. This latter organisation would help yours to learn about AI tools that your organisation could use for the pursuit of its human rights objectives; your organisation would, in turn, help that other organisation get acquainted with your work. (Within the context of this opportunity, the term ‘youth’ is meant to include people whose ages may range anywhere from 15 years to 29 years—even though the official call for it, whose link is provided further below, has failed to mention the upper limit somehow).

Organised by the Global Campus of Human Rights (GCHR), this programme will unfold over the course of 6 months, between January and July 2027. The programme will include both online training and an in-person meeting in Venice, Italy, as well as a visit to your organisation from a member of the AI-empowered organisation paired with yours.

The meeting in Italy will take place on 25-26 February 2027.‍ ‍This meeting will include all the selected organisations that will have been paired together for the programme—which is formally named ‘AI for Human Rights (AI4HR) peer-learning programme for youth-focused organisations.’

The official description for this fully-funded opportunity—which targets organisations from the ‘Global Majority’—can be accessed via this link: https://www.gchumanrights.org/gc-news/international/call-for-applications-ai-for-human-rights-ai4hr-peer-learning-programme-for-youth-focused-organisations/

Registered in 2019 with Italy’s Registro Unico Nazionale del Terzo Settore or National Single Register of Third Sector Entities (RUNTS), the GCHR is a non-profit association classified as an Ente del Terzo Settore (ETS) under Italian law; it is headquartered at the Monastery of San Nicolò in Venice.

Waste no time in preparing your application—and all the best with your quest to learn AI tools for the advancement of human rights!
