Lisbon-based AI Safety Fellowship has September 30, 2026, deadline

If you could afford all your expenses (and arrange for your visa, in case it is necessary for you), then you might consider applying for an 8-week- long Lisbon-based AI Safety Fellowship, set to commence on October 6, 2026.

Eligible applicants are not required to have any prior technical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or associated skills; however, they are required to have a (social media) website, preferably LinkedIn, whose Unique Resource Locator (URL) is sought in the application form.

Focussing on students and working professionals, the programme is officially named ‘Foundations of AI Safety Fellowship’ as well as ‘LAISH Autumn Fellowship 2026’; it is organised and hosted by Lisbon AI Safety Hub (LAISH). The programme will host events, including lectures, every Tuesday 6-8 PM; it will culminate with career guidance within the field of AI safety. The events mentioned LAISH’s rather elegant website seem very engaging and enriching. There is every indication that the programme contents are carefully organised, with the ‘fun’ aspect ensured all across for the participants.

Led by Caleb Eli Price, its ‘President’, LAISH—a non-profit outfit—was very likely launched in July 2026, in Lisbon, Portugal. The organisation seeks to advocate prioritising ‘safety’ in developing AI, and to educate students and working officials on how to pursue associated objectives within their operational domains. The organisation’s LinkedIn profile made a post about its first in-person meeting, held on September 9, 2026.
