January 21, 2026: ‘The Future of Workplace Health’, free webinar hosted by Nigeria’s ABCHealth
by Piyush Mathur
The Lagos-based African Business Coalition for Health (ABCHealth) will hold a Zoom conversation on January 21, 2026, on the theme of workplace health in a technologically oriented Africa. Open to the public, this online meeting is offered by the coalition as an annual get-together—under the banner of ABCHealth Mental Health & Workplace Wellness Webinar 2026.
From a January 6 LinkedIn post made by the coalition’s Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mories Atoki, it can be inferred that the event will focus on how ‘workforce mental health, organizational performance, and talent sustainability’ might intersect in Africa as it comes to terms with the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI), among other modernising factors.
The formal title of the event is ‘The Future of Workplace Health - Exploring AI Driven Workforce Intelligence and Predictive Approaches to Identify Performance, Attrition and Well-Being’.
Dr. Atoki’s post suggests a particularly pro-AI posture for the event, which is likely to promote AI systems (or their potential) to monitor and assess Africa’s workforce—albeit for the stated purpose of ensuring better health for it. Her post notes that the event ‘will explore how AI-driven workforce intelligence and predictive analytics can help organizations proactively identify performance, attrition, and wellbeing risks—enabling data-informed decision-making and healthier, more resilient work environments.’
For all that, critical AI watchers should also be interested in these proceedings, given that popular Generative AI systems so far have been faring poorly within the realm of psychological counselling for members of the public globally—and AI itself is also perceived as a surveillance threat from the employees’ viewpoint generally.
The event will start on January 21 at 1:00 PM West African Time (WAT), which is 2 PM CAT/SAST; 3 PM EAT; & 4 PM Mauritius.
