July 08, 2025: Freethought History Webinar #4 on ‘Atheism and Vegetarianism in the 19th and 20th Centuries’

In a webinar to be held on July 08, 2025, Dr. Nathan G. Alexander—the author of Race in a Godless World: Atheism, Race, and Civilization, 1850-1914 (NYU Press, 2019)—will give a Zoom presentation titled ‘Atheism and Vegetarianism in the 19th and 20th Centuries: A Match Made in Heaven?’. The talk will focus on the British historical context, especially in ‘reference to figures like Percy Bysshe Shelley, G.W. Foote, and Henry S. Salt’, according to its abstract posted on The Freethinker.

The webinar will start at 7 PM (UK time) on July 08—or 10 PM MUT; 11:30 PM IST; 2:00 AM (July 09) CST; 3:00 AM (July 09) JST.

The webinar will be hosted by Daniel James Sharp, the editor of The Freethinker.
